To experience a first again after many years away, is a gift, particularly in a place of such ridiculous scale and change.
I had the pleasure of spending a month on the Tatsenshini river this season after not having done so for almost 10 years. Seeing first hand the many changes in the river and surrounding Glaciers is as amazing as it is scary.
This river builds from a stream among foot hills to a moving sea through some of the largest peaks in Canada. The finale being Alsek Lake with 2 huge Glaciers calving into it creating monstrous icebergs, thunder and mini tidal waves at the shoreline.
Thanks again to Canadian River Expeditions, and all of those who shared and enhanced these experiences.
Until next time…
